AT, DO

“So doc how can I get back to playing?”

“Well Rick you can always just stop.”

That exchange with a surgeon in 2002 forever shaped Rick’s professional journey.

Following the end of his university rugby career, Rick sought to help athletes get back to the game that they love. His professional journey began in 2004, with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy at Concordia University (Go Stingers!), and obtaining his title as a Certified Athletic Therapist. He then added multiple other skill sets, such as RockTape FMT Basic and Advanced, Rockblades, Rockpods, Rockfloss, Mobility Specialist, Specific Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Postural Restoration. In 2016 he successfully defended his thesis and obtained his graduate degree in Manual Osteopathy from the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal (CEO).

Along the way, he has helped athletes of all ages, all sports, all backgrounds, including university athletes, professional soccer and hockey players, National and Olympic athletes, mixed martial arts fighters, and of course weekend warriors.

These days, you can find Rick doing his best to help out athletes of all stripes at Acces Physio Brossard, a multidisciplinary clinic. You can also find Rick helping concussion patients at the renowned Institut des commotions cérébrales (ICC) in Montreal.

You can also find Rick internationally as part of the medical team for Wrestling Canada and Taekwondo Canada.

Rick is also in the classroom, passing on his years of experience (trial and error, as he calls it) to the next generation of therapists, at ENOSI, an Osteopathic College in Montreal.

Outside of work, Rick is a devoted #girldad. On weekends you’ll probably find the poor guy at a tea party with his daughter, with unicorn horns on his head.
